In the past, shopping was a routine domestic task. Many people nowadays regard it as a hobby. To what extent do you think this trend happened?
Nowadays, rarely can you see a developed city without a lot of recreational centers such as shopping centers and malls. Also, a glance at the statistics reveals that shopping around is a hobby for many of the people especially teenagers and women. There are a lot of reasons that caused this trend and three of them mentioned below.
Firstly, we can observe that now malls are something more than a showcase for the products. That is to say, not only can people buy stuff there, but also they can enjoy their time by going to restaurants, cafe or cinema. So, customers have more choices in shopping centers to have fun comparing to the past.
Secondly, due to the fact that celebrities count fashion as a value and because they have a significant effect on people’s behavior, people tend to pay more attention to their clothes. Followed by, self-attention makes them happier and it can be one of the reasons that caused these changes in people’s mood.
On the other hand, because shopping could get between five to ten hours in some cases for customers, people find it as a way for spending their free time like in holidays. Moreover, people could take their friends to the shopping and it’s a way of being more socialized.
In conclusion, in my point of view, shopping centers play an active role in human’s entertainment but it’s not enough. Their managers could add more extra equipment and services for increasing their positive effects on customer’s enjoyment.
