Keeping a pet, advantages and disadvantages

In western countries, rarely can you find a house where a pet is not kept. Sometimes people know them as a member of the family. Conversely, others think it’s not a good idea. The benefits and drawbacks are outlined below.

Firstly, if you live alone or you feel a little depressed in your life, keeping a pet may completely change your mood. So that, scientists believe that they can decrease depression, anxiety and daily stresses. Followed by, taking a nosedive in risks of heart attack and stroke are another significant effects of living with a pet.

Secondly, they can be helpful friends and assistants for the elders and geriatrics. For example, a dog can escort its owner in streets and protect him or her from possible risks in the society like attacking a thief or anti-rules drivers. Furthermore, some of them can learn basic medical treatments and it could be excellent in urge time.

Besides the benefits, some people believe they can cause significant problems in our life. For instance, you have to allocate lots of your time for paying attention to your pet, whereas nowadays people suffer from not paying attention to themselves. Furthermore, followed by research at the Sharif University of Technology, you may lose some of your connections and relationships with other individuals by keeping a pet. For instance, times that you should spend with your friends and family is devoted to your pet.
